Abstract

The 2025 Te Poutoko Ora a Kiwa Symposium brought together a diverse range of esteemed researchers, health professionals, community leaders and learners to share knowledge and strengthen collective impact. The annual symposium was held on the 5th of June 2025 at Fale Pasifika, City Campus, Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland. The symposium was amassed attendees from across Aotearoa, the Pacific region and globally with a strong representation of emerging scholars, academic staff, and sector collaborators. The symposium created space for meaningful talanoa and whakawhiti kōrero, encouraging the exchange of innovative ideas, community-driven solutions, and culturally grounded research. Integral to the gathering was the fostering of connections and shared commitment to Indigenous wellbeing and health equity. The theme of the symposium was: From Vulnerability to Vitality: Global and Pacific Health responses in a Changing Climate. The following abstracts reflect the presentations of the symposium. Each presenter and author are encouraged to develop their work into full manuscripts for future publication
