Abstract

A view point article by Associate Professor Donald Wilson based on his keynote address at the Te Poutoko Ora a Kiwa (Centre for Pacific and Global Health) Research Symposium 2025, in which he revisits the Healthy Islands Vision not as a historical construct but as a moral and ecological compass for the future. It argues that the next phase of Pacific health development must integrate planetary health principles, strengthen Indigenous and community knowledge systems, and equip a new generation of Pacific researchers to bridge evidence, ethics, and policy action.
